VW Concept BlueSport: sporty and fuel-efficient roadster

Volkswagen introduced the Concept BlueSport at the Detroit Auto Show.

Even though no official details were given about production version, it is very likely that we will see the production version at local VW dealerships already in 2012.

This little mid-engined roadster is just 3.99 meters (13.1 feet) long and uses 4.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (54 mpg).

Under the hood is a new 2.0-liter turbo diesel that develops 180 horsepower. Power is sent to rear wheels via 6-speed dual clutch transmission.

Ferrari working on a hybrid concept

Earlier today Lamborghini announced their plan to cut CO2 emissions. This plan included hybrid drive solutions and biofuels.

Lambo’s main rival Ferrari has now confirmed that they are also working on a hybrid concept.
Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa said that in addition to current powertrain solutions they are looking at turbocharging, biofuels and hybrids to cut CO2 emissions.

Felisa did not say anything specific, but made it clear that a hybrid concept will make its debut in the near future. As Ferrari will introduce F450(replacement for the F430) at the Frankfurt Auto Show it is likely that the hybrid concept will make its debut later at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Ferrari F430 “CALAVERA” by Unique Sportcars & Novitec Rosso

German design house Unique Sportscars and well known Ferrari specialist Novitec Rosso have created a custom Ferrari F430 called “Calavera”, which translates to skull form Spanish. This unique supercar is limited to just 11 units. Unique airbrush work is done by international artist Knud Tiroch.

Novitec Rosso twin-supercharger boosts engine power to 707 hp(520 kW). Other modifications by Novitec include improved aerodynamics, rims, tires, brakes, sport suspension and exhaust system.

Calavera reaches 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.5 seconds. 0-200 km/h (124 mph) comes in just 10.5 seconds, 300 km/h (186 mph) is reached in 29.9 seconds. Thanks to longer gear ration new top speed is 348 km/h (216 mph).

Inside we can see modified seats and and extended center console, leaving more room for conventional functions and extensions like the new generation Apple iPod

New American supercar Devon GTX coming this summer

Swedish designer Daniel Paulin has created a new supercar called Devon GTX for Devon Motorworks. Devon GTX is based on Dodge Viper and will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours.

Before that Justin Bell from Devon Motorworks will take the Devon GTX to the famous Nürburgring to attempt a new lap record.

If they can pull it off and make it faster than the Nissan GT-R it could be a huge thing for the company. Being the fastest car on Nürburgring is the best marketing any supercar maker can wish.

At the moment Devon GTX is in design stage, but we do hope to see it on the Nürburgring in July and at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours in August.

According to Daniel Paulin GTX is designed to look both classical and futuristic. We hope to bring you more details about this new supercar in the near future, until then enjoy first images below.

Porsche 997 GT2 gets a power boost from 530 hp to 800 hp

This time Tym Switzer is introducing a bolt-on performance package for the Porsche 997 GT2. In stock GT2 has 530 horsepower. Switzer’s new GT2 package offers impressive 800 horsepower from pump-gas.

Such power boost is possible thanks to custom Garret GT30R-based turbochargers with custom billet compressor wheels on ball-bearing center sections in lightweight stainless turbine housings.

Engine gets air and fuel through larger injectors and a custom intake plenum with an over sized throttle-body. Stock exhaust system is replaced with Switzer’s 997 TT exhaust that is now GT2-specific

SPORTEC SPR1 T80 packs 858 horsepower

Swiss tuner Sportec is well known for the SPR1 range of Porsche 911(997) based supercars. Latest addition to this range is the T80.

Based on the Porsche 911(997) Turbo it has a power output of 858 horsepower at 8,200 rpm and 642 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. It take sjust 3.0 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h), 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) comes in just 18.9 seconds and the top speed is over 236mph (380km/h). Top speed has been tested at Nardo in Italy.

The new supercar Porsche will launch at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show

There are a slew of new models that Porsche has in line for the New Year. They have announced the beginning of their show to be held at the American International Auto Show in Detroit which is scheduled from January 10 to 23. Their website www.porsche.com/detroit would also display these events live as per their announcement. No details have been forthcoming from the company on these cars but the first one to debut at the Detroit show would be a supercar with a twin-turbo engine delivering over 600 hp as per German Magazine AutoBild.

The car is to be an all wheel drive model and light by weight. This has been achieved by using carbon fiber. The acceleration factor of the car reads 0 to 100 kmph that is 62 mph in less than 4 seconds. Top speed of the car is listed at 300 kmph or 186 mph. There is also the possibility ofPorsche coming out with their 918 Spyder concept at the same Detroit show.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Black Desire from Prior Design

Black Desire is the name of the tuned version of the latest generation e-Class Coupe from Mercedes. The tuning firm in this case is Prior Design which is based in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany. The modification that the package involves is mostly on the exterior of the car. There is however options that the tuning firm has on offer which takes care of the engine output as well.

The exterior modification of the package includes a new bumper along with side vents and a spoiler lip that is very prominent. The edges are sharper and this design feature goes for the side skirts too. Carbon fiber made bumper extension with three fins, boot lip and roof spoiler, are meant for the rear end of the car.

Audi RS4: the all new next-generation car coming within two years!

The magazine Car and Driver had reported about the RS4 model not being produced any more. But that does not seem to be true and there is hope the sporty sedan would make a comeback. Autovisie Magazine has reported this piece of information. They have also gone on to state that a new RS4 is in the making and to be available in next two years.

Car and Driver magazine though should not be taken as reporting wrong information. The individual whom the magazine had then discussed with and obtained the information from is not the same who have now given information of the making of the new RS4. High ranked officials of the company have given the information about the new RS4 and its making.

There is not much details about the car but is expected to be faster more fuel efficient and more attractive by looks than the out going model.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 gets all the more exquisite with Grigio Antares paint

Grigio Antares has always been a special color associated strictly with the Murcielago model. Yet, in San Diego, California a 2009 version of Gallardo LP560-4 of the unique color has recently been sold by the Symbolic Motor Car Company. With the brilliance of the color, the car equipped with tinted tail lamps, tinted side markers and passport radar looks majestic. The car has a lot more to offer than just these mentioned above.

Some other yellow and green shades of exterior paint were initially chosen for this model. Thankfully and fortunately the gray shade of Grigio Antares was finally chosen, something that has made the car look really stunning. The color was chosen by the owner to define the car in his own terms without much tampering of the elegant Lamborghini design.

The wonderful color painted on the car adds to its amazing performance and build up. The Gallardo LP560-4 runs on the brand new V10 engine with a capacity of 5.2 liters. The engine is capable of producing a power output of 560 PS (412 kW) at rotation rates as high as 8000 rpm. Compared to the previous version of Gallardo, the power output has been boosted by 40 PS. The weight of the car has been effectively reduced by approximately 20 kilograms. What this has done to the car is that it has enhanced the power to weight ratio by 2.5 kilograms per PS (hp) and has thus bettered the performance of the car. The LP560-4 is capable of reaching the 60 mph mark from zero in just a matter of 3.7 seconds. The car also has the capability of reaching a maximum speed of 201 mph. Thus the color perfectly complements what the car can do on the roads.

2011 Porsche Cayenne 902 Coupe on offer from Merdad

Merdad is well known in the automobile circle. The tuning company is very famous for its tuned cars and is also tipped as one of the best tuners in the automobile industry. A few months ago Merdad revealed specifications of their brand new project based on the Cayenne model of German manufacturers Porsche. Porsche Cayenne was already a cutting edge car with stunning looks when it went under tuning from Merdad. Merdad has eliminated the two doors of the car to give it an even more sophisticated look. They have also made further adjustments to cover up for the pair of doors.

As we assess the recent works of Merdad on Coupe models, they have followed a proper trait of using an innovative styling kit provided with brand new aerodynamic parts. These are complemented by an electronic lowering instrument flanked by 22 inch alloy wheels, something that gives the car a sleek look. The 2012 BMW 1 Series M coupe will not come with a Moonroof

Though BMW will be offering the 1 Series M Coupe with various options, the one thing that the set of wheels will miss out on is the Moonroof. This would be a disappointment for many vintage BMW lovers. But the move of eliminating the Moonroof is a wise one by BMW in order to reduce the overall weight of the Coupe by 35 pounds or 15.8 kilograms. According to Drive On, the Coupe barring the Moonroof will have a lower center of gravity which will offer more stability to the car at higher speeds. The 1 SeriesM Coupe is expected to run on a twin-turbocharged in-line six cylinder engine which is going to deliver at least a power output of 340 hp along with a torque output of 450 Nm. This configuration will power the car to race up to the 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in a mere matter of 4.9 seconds.

The car is expected to hit the showrooms in the spring of 2011. The coupe will run on the standard 18 inch 5 spoke wheels (which will be the minimum till date for an M1 Coupe). Buyers may also opt for 18 inch Competition wheels with the car. The M1 model will be flanked by an M-designed side vents and side sills, along with a bulged hood in front of the car. This is bound to give the car a more bullish look on the roads.

The Technocraft tuning package for the Lamborghini Gallardo includes engine carbon panels, air box, carbon fiber seats, wings, and many other modifications. Nissan GT-R Alpha 9 version created

Much time has not passed since the release of the news about 2012 Nissan GT-R. Many of the automobile lovers are still on a quest to find out what is new with this brand new car. While they are just wondering Auto Moto Sports Performance has announced a package already for the GT-R R35. The package mind you is not just any package, but a masterful one. They have christened the package Alpha 9. Alpha 9 is capable of delivering an output power of 650 HP on the same model which conventionally delivers 530HP. An enhancement by 120 HP well, that’s an upgrade you could boast of.

With this much power now on tap also means there is a major change will come in the statistics of the car. The Nissan GT R with the Alpha 9 package has set a new gas pump record for a quarter of a mile.
The upgraded version of the Nissan GT R has managed to cover the distance in a mere matter of 10 seconds. But we weren’t two surprised. This is because back in May we revealed a Nissan GT-R R35 car that succeeded in covering the same distance in a mind boggling time of 9.62 seconds. Now the question that stands is whether they are from the same tuner. If not they should check out on each other.

Along with the engine upgrade, the Alpha 9 package has also introduced a 90 mm exhaust system to the model. That does some good to this fascinating car. The other major up gradations include new turbo inlet pipes, an upgraded version of billet wheel ball bearing turbochargers, a front mount intercooler upgrade along with customized and calibrated MAF sensors. The tuner also provides the buyer an option to go for catalytic converters for the downpipes along with a substitute race mid-pipe. But this option removes the choice of adding a muffler to the car.

However, if you thought that this would come cheap, you are quite wrong. If you want to fulfill your dream of owning and driving a full fledged racing car from Nissan it would create a big hole in your pocket, as large as $21,999 for the Alpha 9 package.

This exclusive special model also features an aerodynamic-enhancement kit developed in the wind tunnel, three-piece 21-inch wheels with matching sports suspension, a high-performance brake system and exclusive interior options.

The NOVITEC ROSSO RACE 848 is powered by an evolutionary stage of the tried and proven twin-compressor engine conversion for the six-liter V12 four-valve engine of the F599. For an additional power increase of 40 hp / 29.4 kW both mechanical chargers were fitted with modified turbine blades, several details of the engine peripherals were modified and the engine electronics were reprogrammed.

The high-performance chargers have an electronically limited boost pressure of 0.48 bars. The chargers are driven by a cogged belt and have their own dedicated oil circuit. A large water-to-air intercooler with dedicated water circuit also contributes greatly to the optimal power yield. A custom-developed intake manifold, high-performance injectors and sport air filter round out the engine conversion.

In addition, high-performance headers custom-designed for the compressor engine and the NOVITEC ROSSO stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system with a pipe diameter of 90 millimeters are also installed. The intensity of the exhaust note can be adjusted with a little switch on the steering wheel called the ‘manettino.'

The NOVITEC ROSSO RACE 848 specification represents a power increase over the production engine of 228 hp / 167.8 kW to 848 hp / 624 kW at 7,900 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows by 234 Nm to 842 Nm at 6,300 rpm.

Longer carbon-fiber NOVITEC ROSSO shift paddles make shifts of the six-speed F1-Superfast transmission even quicker and more precise. The gearbox also plays a major part in the superior performance of the car. Acceleration from rest to 100 km/h takes just 3.4 seconds, the sprint to 200 km/h a mere 9.6 seconds. With a sprint time for 0 - 300 km/h of just 23.7 seconds the NOVITEC ROSSO RACE 848 solidifies its position among the world's fastest-sprinting sports cars. The car reaches a top speed of more than 345 km/h.

This level of performance places highest demands on well-balanced aerodynamic properties which received their finishing touches in the wind tunnel. The NOVITEC ROSSO front spoiler lip reduces lift on the front axle. The rear apron is upgraded visually and aerodynamically with a rear diffuser. The NOVITEC ROSSO rear wing further increases downforce.

The high-performance equipment also includes three-piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires. The alloy wheels with five double spokes measure one inch diameter more than the production wheels. The front axle features size 9Jx20 wheels with size 275/30 ZR 20 tires. Size 12.5Jx21 wheels and size 355/25 ZR 21 tires on the rear axle provide excellent traction.

The height-adjustable NOVITEC ROSSO sport suspension also allows the damping rates to be set to the individual preferences of the future owners of the super sports car. The suspension's lift function on the front axle can be activated with a push of a button in the cockpit. It raises the front of the vehicle by 40 millimeters to safely navigate such obstacles as speed bumps or parking garage ramps. Upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h the suspension automatically reverts to its original drive position.
